Hi! My name is Marissa Self, and I've been a licensed cosmetologist for six years and a hair and makeup artist for eight. I specialize in balayages, dimensional color, blonding, extensions, and bridal hair and makeup, and I love helping clients feel confident and excited about their look. I've been with Backbone in the Tyler area for almost six years, and it's become such a special place for me and my clients. In my private suite, I focus on creating a welcoming, comfortable environment where you can relax, laugh, and enjoy the process as much as the end result. Outside the salon, I'm recently married to my best friend, and when I'm not traveling, I'm usually at home with my dog, catching up on the trashiest reality TV. I'd love to have you in my chair and work together to create hair you truly love!

Booking policies
Good to know.
A $50 deposit is required to secure all hair appointments, and this amount will be applied toward your total service cost. Cancellations or reschedules made without at least 24 hours' notice will result in the forfeiture of the deposit. Clients who arrive more than 10 minutes late will also forfeit their deposit, which will then be applied as a late fee.
